The Sacred Circle is a self -supporting sisterhood of recovering women, dedicated to reclaiming the Goddess & committed to the healing of our lives. Founded in 1987 by Rev. JoAnna Medina, affectionately known as Mama J. Silverwitch, the Circle brings like-minded women together to Pass the Rattle; share experience, strength, hope; honor Women's Mysteries & Rites of Passage, and celebrate the power of the feminine spirit by coming together for various Circles, Rituals, Gatherings & Retreats throughout the year. Our vision is to provide a safe sanctuary for all sisters who embrace the magical life and sacred path of the Divine Feminine, and we welcome all who wish to join us on our recovering & reclaiming journey! When the Women Heal, the Earth Heals! We gather in the spirit of love & trust to share our recovery, discovery & empowerment. Our purpose is to provide unity & support to all women who are reclaiming the power of the feminine spirit to heal from the insidious ways of Patriarchy. We come together to share our personal stories, identify common problems and solutions, and pass along the many benefits gained by honoring a Goddess-centered Spirituality. We acknowledge there are many avenues of healing & many paths to self discovery. We choose an ancient path that celebrates the ways of Mother Nature because it restores balance & mirrors our unique mysteries as women. We also recognize the many compulsive disorders brought about by living in a dysfunctional culture. Our personal stories reveal Internalized Oppression; Codependency, Family Dysfunction, Abuse & various compulsions, addictions, allergies or imbalances related to food, alcohol, sex, drugs & other substances; but our common desire is to reclaim our power & sacredness as we strive to live in harmony with nature, ourselves and others. Recovery in The Sacred Circle Recovery is defined in the Circle as a return to the Authentic Self through a transformational journey that restores us to wholeness on every level of being... Physical, Mental, Emotional, Spiritual. Many diseases & disorders are caused by inner & outer disharmony rooted in delusions of the mind and dysfunctional patterns of living. These mindsets are a result of our conditioning in Patriarchy or by living in unhealthy systems that disconnect us from reality & sever our ability to flow with the natural forces & cycles of life. In the Circle we reclaim our true spirits by letting go of all that stands in the way of our wholeness while reclaiming a magical path that honors our mysteries as daughters of the Earth, one with all life.
